The main text extends to p. 315, followed by a facsimile of the title page of the original 1609 edition of Shakespeare's Sonnets. This is succeeded by a facsimile of the sonnets as originally printed, paginated to 154, concluding with Finis. The volume further includes a facsimile of A Lover’s Complaint, extending to a further 10 pages, also concluding with Finis.

The spines are finely decorated in gilt, featuring six raised bands, gilt compartments with repeated floral tooling, and gilt-lettered morocco labels.
The bindings remain tight and sound throughout all volumes, with only minor scuffing, light rubbing, and slight corner wear, entirely consistent with age.
Top edges show light dust-related foxing; fore and bottom edges untrimmed.Internally, the text exhibits occasional light foxing, but remains generally clean and free from markings throughout.
A handsome and well-preserved nineteenth-century scholarly set, retaining its attractive contemporary bindings.
