This auction offers a rare set of 8 consecutive issues (out of 10) of the French academic journal Bulletin d’Études Indiennes (Journal of Indian Studies), published between 1983 and 1992. Founded by well-known Indologists Nalini Balbir and Georges-Jean Pinault, the journal was produced by the French Association for Sanskrit/Indian Studies. It contains advanced research and reviews on Sanskrit philology, Indian history, religion, philosophy, and art, with a focus on ancient India in the French scholarly tradition. Each volume features a line drawing of the Hindu god Ganesha on the cover. Some issues were supported by the CNRS and the University of Paris-III, showing their academic value. Condition: Good (B).
