There is shelf wear on the cover of both volumes. Fore edges untrimmed. Both volumes include engraved frontispieces. From page 121 to the end of Volume Ⅱ is uncut. There is a donation stamp on the front paste-down of both volumes and tiny bookseller's labels on the front paste-down of Volume Ⅰ. There is a label indicating that the book belonged to a university faculty research collection and a university stamp on the title page of each volume. The text is generally clean, and the bindings are sound, but page 320 of Volume Ⅱ is slightly loose.
