Presumed first edition. Hardcover in original paper-covered boards, with later linen tape reinforcement to the spine. The upper edge of the front board shows minor chipping, exposing the underlying board material. Ex Libris of Kaoru H. Kasugai to the front pastedown, with the same ownership stamp also present on both the front and rear free endpapers. A handwritten ownership inscription in the same name, along with a date, appears on the rear pastedown. The provenance suggests that the book was once owned by a noted scholar of finance; according to biographical sources, he was studying in London during this period and likely acquired the book there.The text is clean overall with only occasional foxing. The binding is in good condition, showing signs of sympathetic reinforcement with linen tape, presumably applied to stabilize the spine.
