One fold-out map of mail coach roads in the reign of William IV at the end of Vol. 1. A small book seller's label on the front paste down of Vol. 1. Fore edge untrimmed. Panels rubbed and scuffed. Spine top edge of Vol. 2 worn with minor loss of cloth. Corners worn. Hinges and bindings are still strong. Pages are generally clean with slight age toning.

Numerous in-text and full page engravings on wood throughout.Bound in full contemporary leather,spine with five raised bands dividing six compartment with gilt decoration and gilt titles to a red label in the second compartment;all edges,pastedowns marbled. Internally slightly waterstained, and spotted on fly leaves.Ex-libris on front pastedown. Text is bright and clear. Overall a very nice volume.
