First edition, 1933.Octavo. Bound in the publisher’s original light olive cloth with gilt lettering to the spine; coloured top edge. Housed in the original unclipped bluish-grey dust jacket, now protected in a removable archival film.
The dust jacket and endpapers show uniform age-related tanning; the head of the spine of the dust jacket is slightly chipped with a small area of loss. The front endpaper bears a previous owner’s signature. The text exhibits mild toning but remains generally clean throughout.
With a loosely inserted clipped newspaper article (1969) concerning the “Mr W. H.” question in Shakespeare’s Sonnets.
