This volume is a somber and historically important primary source on the Boxer Rebellion (1900) and the severe losses suffered by the China Inland Mission. This copy bears a handwritten Japanese inscription dated “Meiji 34” (1901), indicating acquisition in Japan shortly after publication and adding notable provenance.
