This is an important academic book: American Indian Medicine by Virgil J. Vogel. It offers a detailed historical and ethnographic study of Native American healing practices, herbal medicine, and traditional beliefs. First published in 1970, this copy is the Third Printing from 1973 and is Volume 95 in the respected Civilization of the American Indian Series from the University of Oklahoma Press. The book has a bold black cover with a vivid magenta illustration of a Native American figure on horseback wearing a horned headdress. The spine matches the black-and-magenta design. Condition is B (Good Used). The covers show heavy shelf wear, scuffing, and some peeling along the edges and corners. The page edges have strong, deep age-toning.
