解説文
五十嵐威暢のデザインするポスターカレンダーはニューヨークの近代美術館(MoMA)の依頼により1984年から1988年まで発行されました。
1989年から1994年までの6年間はアルファベットギャラリーによって引き続き発行されます。
このポスターカレンダーの大きな特徴は数字ひとつひとつのデザインが全て異なっていることです。
そのため、1994年までの10年間でデザインされる数字は6,226字になる予定です。
しかも、これらの数字は、立体数字の基本形を基に5mm単位のスペースグリッドを用いて等角投影図法によってデザインするという論理的な考え方が貫かれています。
1991年版は過去7年間のデザインの中から12カ月分を選んで制作される特別限定版として1年分が追加されます。
色彩は、白と黒のモノトーンで1500部のみ印刷されます。
