Stated as the Centenary Edition. All volumes dated 1871.
Elegantly bound in contemporary half red morocco leather over marbled boards with red and green title labels and gilt decorated spines. Gilt titles to the red spines in the second and fourth compartments, with raised bands.
All page edges marbled, marbled boards and matching marbled endpapers. Nice bright spines, some fading and wear to one or two spines, and the odd nick to the compartments. Solid, a quality binding. Plates on thicker, card type, paper.
Scattered, marginal foxing, mainly around plates and preliminary pages. Well-preserved overall; tight, bright, clean and strong.

A Limited Edition set, No.565 of 1040, hand numbered, and volume 1 signed by the publisher. 300 pages per volume.98 plates plus a colored plan of Abbotsbury, and a facsimile letter.
Title pages printed in black with red title and date, and with an engraved decoration to each; the whole work printed on laid paper throughout.
Some volumes have bruising to the top and base of the spine,with some labels chipped and damaged. Binding is solid.Pages are in very good condition with some minor foxing in parts.
