Hardcover. Third edition. It has a cloth cover in a shade between purple and blue. There is some fading due to aging. There is a tiny label on the lower spine of the cover, possibly indicating it was part of a personal collection, but there are no other markings. There is a crack in the hinge paper between the title page, but it doesn't affect the binding at all. The text is clean throughout.
