First edition.Hardcover book bound in purple cloth with a gilt motif of a mongoose on the front board and gilt titling on the spine. It comes with an unclipped dust jacket that shows signs of discoloration and stains. The top and bottom page edges have stains, and there are yellowing marks on the endpapers. Additionally, there is a small sticker from a bookseller on the rear paste-down. However, the text within is generally clean throughout.
