Description des Zones forestières du Japon is a seminal work by Dr. Seiroku Honda (1866–1952), the “Father of Japanese Parks” and creator of the Meiji Jingu sacred forest. Published at the turn of the 20th century, it introduced Japan’s forestry science to the West, detailing vegetation zones, tree species, and forestry products of the Japanese Empire, including those exhibited at the 1900 Expo. Issued by the Direction des Forêts, Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce, and printed in Paris by Maurice de Brunoff, the book is in French. A monumental collection of the "Rigveda-Samhita," the oldest of the four Vedas, complete with the indispensable 14th-century commentary by Sayanacharya. Published by the Vaidika Samshodhana Mandala (Vedic Research Institute) in Poona between 1933 and 1946. Interior: Expected foxing and browning due to age and paper quality of the era. All text remains clear and legible. Tight bindings.
