This exceptionally rare, complete three-volume set of Indian Medicinal Plants by Kirtikar & Basu was published in Tokyo in 1944 by Teikoku Shuppan Co., Ltd., despite the title pages replicating the original 1918 Allahabad edition. Limited to only 200 copies, it was likely produced for Japanese military or academic use during WWII. The set includes Text Part I, Text Part II, and the Plates Volume with detailed botanical lithographs. Condition is Good Vintage / Fair, with heavy age-toning and browning typical of wartime “senka-shi” paper. Original black cloth bindings are firm and intact, and the text and illustrations remain clear and legible.
