A scarce 1938 first edition of China’s Struggle for Tariff Autonomy: 1843–1938, published in Shanghai by Kelly & Walsh, Ltd. Written by Stanley F. Wright, former Commissioner of the Chinese Customs Service, this landmark study traces China’s efforts to regain tariff control. The blue cloth cover bears gold-stamped Chinese calligraphy inscribed by Dr. H. H. Kung , then Minister of Finance, and was printed during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Ex-library (Grade C) from a Japanese Economic Research Institute, with shelf wear, foxing, labels, and stamps. Despite condition, copies with the H. H.
