Tyler Dennett、Doubleday, Page & Co.、1925
This seminal study examines Theodore Roosevelt’s diplomatic intervention in the Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905) and the secret agreements shaping U.S. policy in the Far East, drawing on Roosevelt’s private papers to illuminate previously obscure negotiations. Provenance includes the Isseido (Tokyo) antiquarian bookseller label, a handwritten inscription dated February 1930 from Justine Fumiko Takemoto, and two red Japanese name seals (hanko), likely reading “Takemoto” (竹本). The dust jacket, rare for this title, is present but fair with chipping, tears, and toning. The binding is solid; the interior shows heavy foxing on endpapers, prelims, and text block edges. A historically significant pre WWII Tokyo owned copy.
