This book is Volume III of The Commentary on the Dhammapada, a Pāli text. It is a 1970 reprint of the original 1906 version, published by the Pāli Text Society PTS in London. The PTS is a key group for the study of Theravāda Buddhism in the West. While the Dhammapada contains the Buddha's short teachings, this book provides the stories and context behind those teachings. It is an important source for scholars and practitioners of Buddhism. The text was prepared by H. C. Norman. This copy is in very good condition Grade B. It shows minor wear on the spine and corners, but the binding is tight, and the pages are clean. This book is more than just a text, it's a piece of history. The 1970 reprint is special because it was funded by a Well Wisher to help the PTS republish books lost during WWII. It's a great item for collectors interested in the history of Buddhist studies.
