It was written by Arthur Anthony Macdonell and Arthur Berriedale Keith. Think of it as an encyclopedia for the Vedic period. It explains all the names of people, places, and tribes, as well as subjects like daily life, laws, and religion, using examples from the original texts. This is the 1958 reprint from Motilal Banarsidass (MLBD), a well-known Indian publisher. Volume I includes the original fold-out map of VEDIC INDIA. The books themselves are in good shape. The dark green hardcovers are strong, and the bindings are secure. The pages inside are clean with no writing, though they have yellowed with age. The removable paper covers dust jackets are in poor condition. They have large tears, chips, and missing pieces, especially at the spine. They are also scuffed and stained.This is a working copy for a student or researcher
