This is a complete 2-volume set of the classic reference work Vedic Index of Names and Subjects by A. A. Macdonell and A. B. Keith. This edition is the 1967 Third Reprint, published by the respected Indological press Motilal Banarsidass in India. First issued in 1912, the Vedic Index is still the standard reference for information on Vedic names, places, plants, animals, and social customs.
Condition (Fair / Acceptable): The green cloth bindings show heavy wear. There is major chipping and loss of cloth at the top and bottom of both spines, and the corners are bumped and frayed. The covers have visible soiling and stains. Inside, the pages are heavily browned due to the paper quality typical of the period, with foxing on the opening pages. The bindings remain intact but are shaken, and the hinges show wear. A complete working set, ideal for scholarly use despite significant cosmetic flaws.

状態：This is the complete two-volume set of the Vedic Index of Names and Subjects, a very important reference book for studying ancient Indian history and Vedic texts. It was written by Arthur Anthony Macdonell and Arthur Berriedale Keith. Think of it as an encyclopedia for the Vedic period. It explains all the names of people, places, and tribes, as well as subjects like daily life, laws, and religion, using examples from the original texts. This is the 1958 reprint from Motilal Banarsidass (MLBD), a well-known Indian publisher. Volume I includes the original fold-out map of VEDIC INDIA. The books themselves are in good shape. The dark green hardcovers are strong, and the bindings are secure. The pages inside are clean with no writing, though they have yellowed with age. The removable paper covers dust jackets are in poor condition. They have large tears, chips, and missing pieces, especially at the spine. They are also scuffed and stained.This is a working copy for a student or researcher
