内容は、軍装姿の天皇御肖像と、礼装の皇后御肖像を対で収めた構成で、当時の多色印刷技術による彩色が施されています。

奥付には「昭和五年四月八日印刷／昭和五年五月一日發行」とあり、発行年代が明確な戦前資料です。装丁には鳳凰や雲文などの吉祥意匠が用いられ、昭和初期における皇室敬仰文化と児童雑誌史を伝える一品といえます。
