Harmon, on the half-title to Dr. Kiyoshi Nakayama, the distinguished Japanese Steinbeck scholar, reading in part: "My best wishes to a great Steinbeck scholar." A particularly desirable association copy linking two important figures in Steinbeck studies. With a colour frontispiece portrait of Steinbeck and a photographic dedication to Dr. Tetsumaro Hayashi.
