Published only months before the outbreak of the Pacific War, this uncommon English translation was intended for distribution in Japan, the United States and Europe, as evidenced by the printed prices for all three markets on the publisher's imprint page.

The page edges are evenly toned with age, and the front free endpaper and preliminary leaves show light foxing. Contemporary owner's personal seal to the front free endpaper. A single pencil underline to p. 3; otherwise the text remains clean throughout. A very good copy.
