Peter Cooper F.P.S.、ALCHEMIST PUBLICATIONS、1974
This is the Third Edition (Revised and Enlarged, 1974) of Poisoning by Drugs and Chemicals, Plants and Animals, written by Peter Cooper, F.P.S. and published by Alchemist Publications in London. The book served as a quick-reference index for identifying toxic effects and treatment methods related to poisoning from drugs, chemicals, plants, and animals. It reflects the practical toxicology and emergency-medicine knowledge of the early 1970s, making it a useful historical reference for collectors interested in the development of pharmacology and clinical toxicology. The book is approximately 20.5 cm tall. Condition is rated C, as the cover shows chipping, tears at the corners, scuffing, and significant foxing or staining on the endpapers. Only the book itself is included. Despite the condition issues, this edition remains a noteworthy historical resource and an appealing item for collectors of early modern medical and toxicology texts.

This is a rare second printing (1958) of Venoms, an important academic volume first published in 1956. It contains the key papers from the First International Conference on Venoms, held in Berkeley, California, in December 1954. This conference played a major role in establishing venom research—now known as venomology—as a modern scientific field. Edited by Eleanor E. Buckley and Nandor Porges and published as AAAS Publication No. 44, the book presents leading research of the time. The contents cover the chemistry, mechanisms, biological effects, and clinical uses of venoms from snakes, spiders, scorpions, and marine species. The cloth hardcover, titled “Venoms” in gold, is in good condition for its age. Condition is Grade B, with light shelf wear and normal tanning or foxing on the page edges, but the binding is still tight. This volume is a key primary source for collectors and researchers interested in toxicology, scientific history, and early post-war life-science research.
